Competetive :

• Arko Roy of class V won a gold medal and Nayan Mukherjee also of class V won a silver medal for securing the first & second positions respectively at a swimming competition, organized by the Prashanta Memorial Training Centre, Behala.
   
• Aditya Vikram Nayak of class V has entered the National level of MAARS Spelling Bee Competition to be held on 9th October at Science City.
   
• Disa Roy of class VIII, secured the 1st position at the All Bengal Open Full Contact Karate Championship 2010.
   
• Manjima Sarkar (VIII) participated in the All India Dance , Drama, Music competition and secured 3rd position. She has been conferred the Nritya Shree for her brilliant performance in Odisi.
   
• A National Level, essay competition for schools was organized by All India Plastic Manufacturers’ Association held on the topic “Life in Plastic Era” , Trisha Chanda’s (X) entry was adjudged the 3rd best in the East Zone. She will be felicitated on 21st January at Mumbai.
   
• An Art competition was held by the 24 Ghanta News Channel. Young painters and artists from class III to class VII participated in a competition entitled “Amar Dugga Thakur” The school team was awarded a trophy for their innovative drawings. The students of the Primary section took part in an Inter –School Skit competition on the theme “Durga Puja” also organized by the 24 Ghanta Channel on 5th October 2010 . The school team won a trophy for their group performance.
   

Inter House Activities :

• Chicago week was observed by the School from 13th to17th September to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s famous speech in U.S.A. As a part of this a Bengali essay writing competition was organized on 15th September 2010, the winner was Avik Chandra (class XII). An extempo contest in English was held on 16th September 2010, The winner was Chandrika Das (VII). An Art competition was also held to commemorate the special week on 17th September 2010. The winner was Adri Shikhar Pal (VI) for the junior category and Saptarshi Mukherjee (X) for the senior category.
   
• The Inter-House Patriotic songs competition was held on 22.09.10. The winners were Soumyajit Bhattacharya (V) in the junior category and Debopriya Ghatak (X) in the senior category.
   
• An Inter-house debate competition was held on 24/09/10. Nazrin Islam (XI) was the winner.
   
• The Inter House Football Tournament was held on 23rd September 2010, Scarlet House was the winning team.
   

Non-Competitive :

• Special assemblies were held on the occasions of Teachers’ Day, birth anniversary of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Vidyasagar, Eid and Mahalaya.
   
• The teaching and non-teaching staff celebrated the 32nd Foundation Day on 25.09.10. The occasion was graced by the presence of the school Founder Sri C.G.Chandra.
   
• The students of Primary section ushered in the festive season with a cultural programme on 11th and 12th October 2010.
   

Coming Up :

• Regional maths Olympiad , Science Olympiads will be held in November/December.
   
• Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki Festa, 2010-11 will be held on the theme “Here Is My Life”.
   
• The long awaited International School Award 2009-10 giving ceremony will be held at Chennai on Sunday 21st November 2010.
